Life in a hotel

We spent about two months living in a hotel - well, four hotels, to be exact - once we arrived in Spain. Friends and family would ask off and on if we were tired of it, and our answer was always "NO!" We loved having clean towels and sheets (that we didn't have to clean) and a freshly cooked breakfast everyday (that we didn't have to cook). I must say, though, that eating out every lunch and dinner did get a little old after a while. Especially since restaurants in Spain don't open for dinner until 8:30. Also, with a limited number of toys to play with and a limited space to play in, Eden had to learn how to make her own fun, which she did quite well. We spent the longest period of time at the beautiful Palace Hotel in downtown Madrid, where we got to know the breakfast waiters. They were so gracious toward us, especially given that we were often eating breakfast with a cranky baby. Eden could not have cared less that people were paying a lot to stay at that hotel...when she wanted to shriek, scream, cry, or throw food at breakfast, she did it. Overall, though, we enjoyed our time living in a hotel and especially being located very centrally in downtown Madrid and getting to know the city.
