Texas

At the end of June, we packed our Toyota Highlander with everything we would need for the next two months, two dogs, one baby, and were off on a 20+ hour drive to Texas! We had to go there to drop our dogs off with Andrew's parents, who offered to care for them until we could have them flown over. (Airlines don't permit dogs to travel overseas during the hot months).

The drive went surprisingly well. We broke it up into three days, which we decided we will always do in the future if we have to drive such a long distance again. Gone are our days of driving 25 hours straight (which we once did from D.C. to Houston in our pre-dog and baby days)! As you can see, Atlas helped keep Eden entertained for the drive, so we really didn't have to stop much at all. Oh, and we nearly every toy we brought onto her lap for the drive.

My mom came out for our visit to Texas as well and stayed with us at Andrew's parent's house, so I got to celebrate with her on my actual birthday for the first time in years.

Here I am opening presents for my 28th birthday! That always seemed like such an old age when I was younger....but here I am, and not feeling old at all. (Except for those nights when I get no sleep....:) )
